Experience

Software Engineer II

October 2025 - Present

Lendistry

As a Software Engineer II, I build scalable, performant, and user focused applications that support small businesses and their communities. I work cross functionally with product, design, and engineering to turn complex requirements into clean, maintainable solutions. I regularly contribute to architectural decisions, drive performance optimizations, and mentor junior engineers while promoting strong engineering standards and modern development practices.

Goes Beyond Instructions—Takes Ownership, Designs, and Delivers Independently

Given By: Christophe DeschervoisVice President Frontend, Lendistry

I had the pleasure of working with Bala when he joined my team fresh out of college as a Junior React Developer. From day one, he impressed us with his enthusiasm, adaptability, and hunger to learn. Though new to the professional environment, he quickly got up to speed with our codebase, tools, and the project’s architecture. What truly stands out about Bala is how he moved beyond simply following instructions, he took full ownership of tasks and even took the initiative to propose, design, and develop features almost independently. When faced with challenges, he sought out solutions proactively, asked smart questions, and made sure the features he delivered were of high quality. His contributions helped us move faster without compromising on stability or quality. Beyond his technical skills, he’s a great team player, punctual, receptive to feedback, and always ready to help others. I believe Bala has tremendous potential and will continue to grow into a senior-level engineer and key contributor on any team. I enthusiastically recommend him for any role involving React, front-end development, or more broadly in software engineering.

Hobbies

A few things I've been enjoying recently outside of work. (Scroll right to see more!)

PC Build 1 (Intel) – image 1

PC Build 1 (Intel)

My first proper custom PC build. It uses an Intel Core i9-10850K with 64GB of G.SKILL Trident Z RGB DDR4 on a GIGABYTE Z590 AORUS ULTRA, all inside an NZXT H5 RGB case. A 2TB Samsung 990 SSD and an RM750 750W PSU keep it fast and stable, and I use this machine for everyday development, gaming, and some light local LLM testing.

PC Build 2 (AMD) – image 1

PC Build 2 (AMD)

A newer AM5 build that I lean on when I want more headroom for experiments. It runs an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an RTX 5070, cooled by an NZXT Kraken Elite, with Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz DDR5 CL30 on an ASUS B650E MAX Gaming WiFi W. With a 2TB Samsung 990 SSD and an RM850 850W PSU, this is the box I use for fine-tuning and testing LLMs, running models locally, and I plan to add a water block to the 5070 soon.

Working on Cars – image 1

Working on Cars

I enjoy maintaining and upgrading my car as a hands-on, technical hobby. I focus on understanding how systems interact, diagnosing issues, and making incremental improvements. My work includes replacing the water pump, cleaning the intake system, installing a cold air intake, upgrading spark plugs and ignition coils, and installing coilovers. I approach each task the same way I approach engineering problems: research, plan, execute, test, and iterate.

Coffee Brewing Experiments – image 1

Coffee Brewing Experiments

Coffee brewing is one of my technical hobbies. I focus on extraction theory, grind uniformity, water temperature control, and bean origin analysis. Using an espresso machine, burr grinder, and fresh roast beans (Ethiopian, Colombian, Costa Rican), I treat each brew like a small experiment to fine tune balance, body, and acidity all without going overboard on the budget (or the caffeine).

Motorcycle Riding – image 1

Motorcycle Riding

I enjoy weekend rides on twisty roads, paying attention to lines, body position, and smooth throttle control, and I treat gear, maintenance, and road awareness as seriously as the fun part.
